Body Filler
What Is It?
Body filler restores volume and adjusts contour and proportion in selected areas without surgery. It follows the same logic as facial filler, but the hyaluronic acid products used on the body are denser and are placed in far larger volumes.
The reason for it is not always “enlargement”. Three situations come up most often: balancing asymmetry between the two sides, filling depressions left after an accident or surgery, and restoring volume lost with weight change. The areas that can be treated are the buttocks, legs, backs of the hands and the chest region; which of these is suitable is assessed individually at examination.
How Is It Done?
At examination the tissue thickness of the target area, skin elasticity and the difference between the two sides are measured, and the volume you expect is compared with the volume the area can carry. Measurements and photographs are recorded. Because the volumes used on the body are many times those used on the face, this planning stage matters even more here.
Application is with a cannula into the appropriate subcutaneous layer — the cannula is preferred because it reduces the risk of vessel injury. Depending on area and volume the procedure averages 60 minutes. Afterwards the area is supported and the compression and positioning advice given must be followed; whether the product stays where it was placed depends on this in the first days.
Who Is It For?
Suitable for people with preserved skin elasticity, a limited and clearly defined target area, and no wish for surgery. It gives the clearest result for defined goals such as correcting asymmetry or filling a scar-related depression.
It will not meet expectations where large volume is wanted across wide areas or where skin laxity is pronounced; surgical options are discussed in that case. It is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active infection or an open wound at the site, or in bleeding disorders, uncontrolled autoimmune disease and known allergy to the product. Treatment of the chest region requires separate assessment and is not recommended for everyone.
Process & Recovery
Examination and measurement
Tissue thickness, skin elasticity and the degree of asymmetry are measured; expectation is compared with what the area can carry. Measurements and photographs are recorded.
Treatment day
The area is cleansed and marked; after local anaesthesia the product is placed with a cannula into the appropriate layer. It averages 60 minutes depending on area and volume.
First 72 hours
Swelling, a sensation of tightness and tenderness occur; bruising is possible. Following the positioning and compression advice is critical in this period for the product to stay where it was planned.
Weeks 2-4
Swelling resolves and the product settles into the tissue. Volume looks greater than intended in the first days; the true appearance emerges in this period.
Review
A review is carried out at around week four. Symmetry and volume distribution are assessed by photographic comparison, and a second session is planned if needed.
Results & Duration
The volume effect is visible straight away, but the true appearance cannot be judged until swelling resolves — on the body this takes longer than on the face, on average 2-4 weeks.
Duration varies with the product, the volume placed, how mobile the area is and individual metabolism; the range generally reported for this product group is around 2 years. The effect fades over time and requires renewal. Large volumes may not reach the target in a single session; splitting into two sessions is often safer and gives a more natural result.
What Is Not Promised
Body filler does not replace surgical volume augmentation and does not produce change on the same scale. It does not gather lax skin, does not eliminate the appearance of cellulite, and is no substitute for weight management or exercise.
No particular increase in measurement, silhouette or duration is guaranteed. Volume beyond what the area can carry compromises a natural result, so the amount is planned around the measurements taken and expectations are discussed alongside them.
Key Benefits
- Quick results
- Scarless application
- Non-surgical solution
“In body contouring the target is proportion, not excess. The right amount in the right area is enough for a natural silhouette.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Is body filler surgery?
No. There is no incision; product is placed under the skin with a cannula. Recovery is far shorter than with surgery.
Which areas can be treated?
The buttocks, legs, backs of the hands and the chest region. Which is suitable for you is assessed at examination; the chest region requires separate assessment.
How long does it take?
On average 60 minutes, depending on the area and the volume placed.
Is it painful?
The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia. A sensation of tightness and tenderness for a few days afterwards is expected.
When will I see the result?
Volume is visible immediately but looks greater than intended in the first days because of swelling. The true appearance emerges over 2-4 weeks.
How long does it last?
The range generally reported for this product group is around 2 years. It varies with the person, the area and the volume placed, and requires renewal.
Can it be done in one session?
Usually yes for small volumes. For large volumes, splitting into two sessions is safer and gives a more natural result; this is discussed at examination.
Who is it not suitable for?
It is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active infection or an open wound at the site, or in bleeding disorders, uncontrolled autoimmune disease and known allergy to the product.
