What Is It?
Novuma is a biostimulating injection containing calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA). The calcium particles are delivered within a gel carrier; as the carrier dissolves over time, the particles aim to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the tissue.
The point of separation is the raw material: PLA protocols work with poly-lactic acid, Novuma with calcium hydroxyapatite. This has two consequences — the gel carrier creates a mild sense of support on the day of application, which PLA does not offer in its early phase, and calcium hydroxyapatite cannot be reversed with a dissolving enzyme.
