Mesotherapy

What Is It?

Mesotherapy delivers a mixture of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and hyaluronic acid into the middle layer of the skin (the dermis) in small volumes, using very fine needles. The aim is not to add volume from outside but to support the tissue through its own capacity to renew.

It is used along two separate lines, and they are different jobs: in skin mesotherapy the target is hydration, radiance and tissue quality; in hair mesotherapy the target is nourishment of the scalp and support during shedding. The mixture is prepared separately for each — “having mesotherapy” does not describe a single procedure.

How Is It Done?

The cause is investigated first. For skin, where the dullness comes from is established (loss of hydration, sun damage, sleep and diet); for hair, the type of shedding is identified and blood tests are requested where indicated. No mixture is chosen before the cause is understood, because mesotherapy is a delivery method rather than a single prescription.

The area is cleansed and topical anaesthetic cream is used where needed. The mixture is delivered through evenly spaced points in very small volumes with fine needles. A session averages 15-20 minutes and a soothing mask may follow. The protocol is usually an average of 4 sessions, 2-4 weeks apart; the number is reassessed according to the response.

Who Is It For?

Suitable for people who describe dullness, loss of hydration and superficial tissue fatigue in the skin, or who notice thinning and shedding in the hair. On the skin side it responds most clearly where the problem is tissue quality rather than volume loss or laxity.

It will not meet expectations on its own where there are deep wrinkles, marked volume loss or skin laxity. It is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active infection, eczema or an open wound at the site, or in bleeding disorders, uncontrolled autoimmune disease and known allergy to the mixture. On the hair side, if shedding is driven by a systemic cause such as thyroid disease or iron deficiency, that is assessed first.

Process & Recovery

  1. Assessment

The cause of the dullness or the shedding is investigated and blood tests are requested where indicated. The mixture and session count are determined on that basis.

  2. Session day

The area is cleansed and topical anaesthetic cream is applied if needed. The mixture is delivered through evenly spaced points in very small volumes; the session takes 15-20 minutes.

  3. First 24 hours

Redness and small bumps appear at the injection points and usually settle within 2-3 hours. Make-up, swimming pools, saunas and intense exercise are not advised on the same day.

  4. Between sessions

Sessions are planned 2-4 weeks apart. Freshness in the skin may be felt after the first session, but a lasting change in tissue requires completing the series.

  5. End of series and maintenance

The result is assessed about two weeks after the average four-session series is complete. Maintenance sessions are usually planned for the effect to continue.

Results & Duration

The effect appears gradually across the series rather than after a single session. On the skin the first difference is usually in hydration and radiance; a change in tissue quality requires completing the series and then waiting two weeks. Assessment takes longer on the hair side, because the hair cycle is measured in months.

The effect is not continuous. The range generally reported is 3-6 months and it fades without maintenance sessions. Response varies between individuals; the same protocol does not give the same result in everyone.

What Is Not Promised

Mesotherapy is not filler: it does not add volume, does not fill deep wrinkles and does not gather lax skin. It does not lighten pigmentation on its own and is no substitute for sun protection. On the hair side it is not a treatment that stops shedding, and it does not replace management of a systemic cause.

No particular session count, result or duration is guaranteed. It does not replace sleep, diet and sun protection — without those in order, any result obtained will not last either.

Key Benefits

  • Vibrant appearance
  • Intense moisturizing
  • Skin tone support

“Mesotherapy is not a miracle on its own; it is part of the right protocol. First we understand the cause, then we build the mixture around it.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Is mesotherapy used for both skin and hair?

Yes, but they are different jobs. The mixture and the protocol are prepared separately for skin and for hair.

How many sessions are needed?

Usually an average of 4 sessions, 2-4 weeks apart. The exact number depends on the response obtained.

Is it painful?

It is delivered with very fine needles in small volumes, with topical anaesthetic cream beforehand if needed. Most people describe a brief stinging sensation.

How will I look afterwards?

Redness and small bumps appear at the injection points and usually settle within 2-3 hours. Make-up, swimming pools and saunas are not advised the same day.

When will I see the result?

The first difference is in hydration and radiance. A change in tissue quality requires completing the series and then waiting two weeks.

How long does it last?

The range generally reported is 3-6 months. The effect fades over time without maintenance sessions.

Will it lighten my pigmentation?

Mesotherapy is not a pigmentation treatment on its own. It may support skin tone, but pigment-driven marks need a different approach.

Will it stop my hair shedding?

It is not a treatment that stops shedding; it supports the scalp. If the cause is systemic — thyroid disease or iron deficiency, for example — that is assessed first.
