Liquid Face Lift
What Is It?
A liquid face lift is a planning approach that restores facial volume and proportion using injectable products, without a surgical incision. It is not the name of a single product; it is a protocol in which hyaluronic acid based fillers, calcium hydroxyapatite and skinboosters may be combined according to the map produced by facial analysis.
Ageing does not change the face through skin laxity alone: fat compartments shrink and descend, bone support recedes, and collagen decreases in the skin. A liquid face lift supports the losses in these three layers from selected points, aiming to rebalance the face rather than “pull” it. The expected effect is not a tightened face but a rested one with restored proportions.
How Is It Done?
The procedure begins with facial analysis. The upper, middle and lower thirds are assessed separately; where volume loss began, which structure causes the shadowing, and where the support points should be are all mapped. No product is chosen before this map exists.
Product and depth are then selected by region: firmer products at supraperiosteal support points, more fluid products in thin, superficial areas. Application is performed with a cannula or a fine needle, after topical anaesthetic cream. The procedure takes 30-45 minutes on average. At the end, symmetry is reviewed together in the mirror.
Who Is It For?
Suitable for people who notice midface descent, volume loss over the cheekbones, and deepening nasolabial or marionette lines, and who do not want surgery or are not yet candidates for it. It usually comes up from the mid-thirties onwards, though age alone is not the criterion.
Where skin laxity is advanced and the real issue is excess skin rather than lost volume, injections alone will not meet the expectation — this is stated openly during consultation. It is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, in the presence of active infection at the site, or in cases of bleeding disorder and uncontrolled autoimmune disease. Current medication and previous procedures are part of the assessment.
Process & Recovery
Consultation and analysis
Expectations, medical history and current medication are recorded; facial analysis is performed and the plan is agreed together. Baseline photographs are taken at this stage.
Treatment day
The skin is cleansed and topical anaesthetic cream is left on for 15-20 minutes. The planned points are treated; total time averages 30-45 minutes.
First 48 hours
Redness, mild swelling and occasionally bruising may appear at injection points; these are expected and temporary. Heat, intense exercise and alcohol are not advised on the first day, and pressure on the treated area should be avoided.
First two weeks
Swelling resolves and the product settles into the tissue. Settling usually takes 10-14 days; the result is not assessed before that.
Review
A review appointment is planned at the end of the second week. A small top-up may be added if needed — this is a normal part of the plan.
Results & Duration
The effect of volume support begins to show immediately, but the final appearance becomes clear once swelling resolves, on average within two weeks. Duration varies with the product used, the area treated, individual metabolism and lifestyle; the range generally reported for hyaluronic acid based products is 12-18 months.
The effect fades over time and requires renewal. This is not a shortcoming but the nature of the method — no substance is left in the tissue for life.
What Is Not Promised
A liquid face lift does not replace a surgical face lift. It does not remove excess skin in advanced laxity, does not on its own correct pigmentation or fine surface lines, and does not deliver an appearance independent of weight change.
No guarantee is given as to how long the result will last or how much can be achieved; outcomes vary from person to person. If expectations do not match what the procedure can do, it is not recommended — saying so at the outset is fairer than causing disappointment later.
