What Is It?
Jawline filler is the definition of the lower facial border by applying hyaluronic acid based product to selected points along the jaw. The aim is not to enlarge the chin but to define the facial oval by sharpening the transition between the lower face and the neck.
A soft jawline is not always about weight or age. In some people the chin and angle are naturally set back; in others, bone support recedes with age and tissue descends. The plan differs accordingly: in one case a missing structure is supported, in the other lost support is restored.
How Is It Done?
The procedure begins with facial analysis. The chin, the jaw angle (gonial angle) and the line between them are assessed separately, with profile and frontal views examined together. The neck-chin angle, the fat pad under the chin and dental occlusion are also taken into account, because they directly affect how defined the result can be.
The jawline is drawn and marked. Firmer products are preferred at supraperiosteal support points and more fluid products along the line; application is with a cannula or a fine needle after topical anaesthetic cream. The procedure averages 15-30 minutes. Symmetry is checked from the front and in profile at the end.

Suitable for people whose jawline is soft, whose lower facial border looks indistinct in profile, or whose mild double-chin appearance stems from a lack of volume. Target proportions differ by sex: a wider, more angular line in men, a softer and more continuous curve in women.
Where the appearance under the chin comes mainly from fat tissue, filler alone will not meet the expectation and a different approach is discussed. In significant chin recession or malocclusion, orthodontic or surgical assessment is advised. It is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active infection at the site, or in bleeding disorders and uncontrolled autoimmune disease.
Process & Recovery
Consultation
Expectations, medical history and current medication are recorded. Frontal and profile photographs are taken and the target line is agreed together.
Treatment day
The area is cleansed and topical anaesthetic cream is left on for 15-20 minutes. The jawline is drawn and the planned points are treated; the procedure averages 15-30 minutes.
First 48 hours
Redness and mild swelling occur at injection points and bruising is possible. Heat, intense exercise and alcohol are not advised on the first day; avoid pressure on the area and sleeping face down.
First two weeks
Swelling resolves, the product settles and the line takes its final shape. The result is not assessed before then — the early appearance is not the final one.
Review
A review is carried out at the end of the second week. Symmetry and transitions are assessed and a small top-up is planned if needed.
Results & Duration
Definition is noticeable straight after the procedure, but the final appearance becomes clear once swelling resolves, on average within two weeks. Duration varies with the product, the quantity used, how mobile the area is and individual metabolism; the range generally reported for hyaluronic acid based products is 12-18 months.
The effect fades over time and requires renewal. Because the jawline moves constantly with chewing and speech, renewal may be needed sooner than in less mobile areas.
What Is Not Promised
Jawline filler is not a face lift; it does not gather advanced skin laxity and does not dissolve fat under the chin. It does not change the underlying bone, does not correct malocclusion, and does not deliver an appearance independent of weight change.
