Laser Mole/Lesion Treatment

⏱ Duration15-30 min ✦ EffectLong-lasting ↻ Sessions1-2 session(s)

What Is It?

In this treatment moles and benign surface lesions on the skin are removed one by one with a laser. No area is scanned; each lesion is a separate target.

What separates it is the order of work. In light and laser treatments covering an area the aim is to reduce scattered colour; here the aim is the removal of a specific lesion. The first step is therefore assessment rather than treatment: the appearance, borders and history of change of the lesion are examined, and where there is doubt dermatology assessment is requested before anything is done.

More detail: BBL — light covering a wide area · Pigmentation Treatment — typing the pigmentation

How Is It Done?

After the lesion has been assessed, topical anaesthetic cream is applied to the area. Laser pulses follow the border of the lesion; the procedure averages 15-30 minutes and the number of lesions sets the time. A crust forms afterwards and is expected to shed on its own. The plan reported in the source data is 1-2 sessions.

Who Is It For?

Suitable for people with benign lesions that catch on clothing, are damaged while shaving, or whose appearance troubles them. The decision is made lesion by lesion; in the same person one lesion may be suitable while another is referred for assessment.

Lesions with irregular borders, changing colour, growth or bleeding are not the subject of this treatment and are referred to dermatology first. A tendency to keloid scarring, uncontrolled immune disease, active infection in the area, pregnancy and breastfeeding all change the plan. On tanned skin the timing is set by the doctor.

Results & Duration

The crust lasts a few days; once it sheds a pinkish base remains and blends with the skin over weeks. Sun protection during that period decides how the colour settles. The source data reports the effect as long-lasting; some lesions can reappear over time, and a second session is planned in that case.

What Is Not Promised

This treatment is not a diagnostic method; it does not replace assessment of suspicious lesions. A mark can remain on the skin afterwards; freedom from scarring is not guaranteed. It does not correct scattered colour across an area and does not replace treatments covering a whole region. It does not prevent new lesions from forming. Neither the number of sessions nor the result is guaranteed.

Key Benefits

  • Lesion removal
  • Clean appearance
  • Short procedure time

“I do not rush on the mole side. When a patient says “let us take that one too”, I look at it first: are the borders regular, has it changed? Where there is doubt, the laser’s turn does not come — proper assessment does.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Can every mole be removed with a laser?

It cannot. The decision is made lesion by lesion; lesions with irregular borders, changing colour or growth are referred for dermatology assessment first.

Will a mark remain?

It can. Healing varies with skin type, the area and adherence to aftercare; freedom from scarring is not guaranteed.

What is recovery like?

A crust forms in the area for a few days. It is expected to shed on its own and should not be picked; sun protection continues afterwards.

How does it differ from BBL?

BBL covers a wide area and addresses scattered colour. Here individual lesions are targeted, with assessment beforehand.
