What Is It?
Exosomes are nano-sized vesicles secreted by cells; they carry molecules such as proteins, lipids and RNA and take part in communication between cells. Applied to the scalp, the aim is to carry signals to the tissue around the follicle and support the hair’s own growth cycle.
On the hair side there are two separate questions that should not be conflated: which source the exosome product is made from — plant or animal — and how much is applied. The source concerns the raw material of the product, not the area treated; the dose varies markedly by product and by person. Both are discussed separately at examination, and no protocol is applied from memory.
How Is It Done?
The cause of the hair loss is investigated first. Male or female pattern loss, telogen effluvium and shedding driven by iron or thyroid problems require different paths, and blood tests are requested where indicated. Exosome treatment is not a diagnostic method — no protocol is built before the cause is understood.
After the scalp is assessed, the source (plant or animal) and the dose are decided. The product is delivered into the scalp with very fine needles through evenly spaced points; topical anaesthetic cream can be used beforehand. A session averages 30-45 minutes. The number of sessions and the interval vary with the product chosen; usually 1-3 sessions are planned. In suitable cases the protocol may be built together with hair mesotherapy or PRP.

Session day
The scalp is cleansed and topical anaesthetic cream applied if needed. The product is delivered through evenly spaced points; the session takes 30-45 minutes.
First 24 hours
Redness and tenderness occur at the injection points and usually settle the same day. The waiting time given before washing the hair should be respected, and swimming pools and saunas avoided.
Between sessions
The interval varies with the product chosen. Changes in the amount of shedding are observed in this period; a difference in hair calibre is not yet expected.
Months 3-6
Because the hair cycle is measured in months, assessment falls in this window. Comparison is made with photographs; a subjective impression is not enough.
Results & Duration
Results in hair do not come quickly. A change in the amount of shedding may be noticed in the early months, but a difference in hair calibre and density requires the hair cycle to turn — that takes 3-6 months.
Response varies by person and by product chosen; the same protocol does not give the same result in everyone. Reported durations differ by product and maintenance is required. If an underlying cause of shedding persists, any support obtained will not last while that cause goes unmanaged.
What Is Not Promised
Exosome treatment does not replace a hair transplant: it does not bring back a follicle that has been lost and does not fill a bald area. It is not a treatment that stops shedding, and it does not replace management of a systemic cause.
No particular increase in density, session count or duration is guaranteed. Because dose and source vary by person, comparing yourself with someone else’s result is misleading. If expectations do not match the type of hair loss, that is discussed openly at examination.
