What Is It?
Hand rejuvenation is the shared name for treatments addressing two separate changes on the back of the hand. The first is volume loss: as the supporting tissue beneath the skin thins, veins and tendons stand out. The second is surface change: sun spots and skin that looks thinned and crêped.
These two headings are worked with different tools and rarely finish in the same session. After the face, the back of the hand shows age most: it takes sun for a lifetime, is in constant movement, and its subcutaneous support is not as thick as on the face. Planning therefore starts with the question of which complaint comes first.
How Is It Done?
Assessment notes the degree of volume loss, how visible veins and tendons are, skin thickness and the distribution of pigmentation, each separately. Mesotherapy is delivered with a fine needle into superficial points. Topical anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand and the procedure averages 20-30 minutes. If pigmentation requires a separate plan, it is left to its own session.
